    South Africa's biggest export?

    NSFW link

So I was casually browsing the net today when someone told me about this South African band called "Die Antwoord" and they are, quite possibly, the best brand of music to come from 'Sef Effrica' so far, if not ever, IMHO.

It's cheesy, it's common, it's crude, and it's absolutely fantastic

The Euro-groove was OK once they got to it, but rough tats, glitter eyeshadow, 'hood lingo and Pink Floyd shorts aren't workin' for me. What's the fat guy do?

I'm really excited by this group's emergence. Seems like they've managed to somehow become somewhat of an internet phenomena, and compared to other musicians hailing from SA they're showing something completely different to what we've seen before (South Africans that is).

I'm not saying that other musicians from SA are bad of course, but this is something else.

They make me want to say thank goodness for eccentric variety. Finally we have cursing, tattooed weirdos who seem like they may actually become rather successful. That alone puts a smile on my face every time.

    Thanks Kitdy

I checked in from time to time, just haven't been posting as much as I perhaps did at one stage.
I think this whole 'carpocalypse' business gave me a bit of an automotive depression as well, didn't have a lot of inspiration to post anything car-related and worthy of the best darn car site on earth.

...And then I remembered the Miscellaneous section

    Besides, I missed the place.

Thanks for the welcome-back, it's good to be back

    I think she's kinda cute...

And I do like the 'different-ness' of it... refreshing in this "Empire State Of Mind" saturated day and age...
