Is is already released on the market? I'm sure it's too expensive to buy.

people are known to do all sorts of crazy things, and although I wouldn't put it past someone stupid enough to take an original 288 and build this, I still think its a little far fetched. If I'm not mistaking, it was quite common for people to take their regular 308s and have the 288 body work done to them, for the more exclusive look. Just the same as people throw CS bumpers/grills on 360s or GT2/3/Turbo body work on everyday 911s. Unless they can actually prove it, I can't take it seriously.
p.s. I couldn't help but laugh at around 2:02 and onward at the muscle car roar coming from the little Italian stallion. Its like hearing a cat bark.
I read somewhere else that this was a 288, but it was a write-off.

thats not a ferrari in my opinion, but merely the dregs of one. chev and twin turbos, pfft. impressive feat though, incredibly fast.
even still, I could never justify turning it into a project like this. That is unless of course there was no insurance to pay for having the car rebuilt to factory perfect. At the end of the day, a rebuilt title is just that, a title. If the frame is in tact, everything else has been restored and it drives the way it should, I see no reason not to love a car the same, especially something as unique as a 288 GTO. But, no insurance to help and a band of eager sponsors to create a record breaking car, I'd probably go down that road too.
Oh yea. I stand corrected.
