    Maclaren F1??

    Hi,
what's so special with the Maclaren F1??
Our Swedish car "Koenigsegg CCR" witch is a supersport car built to drive on normal ways makes 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds and have a topspeed at 400kh/m | ~250mph, it's compressor charges V8 pump out over 810 (Brake)horsepower and 950 Nm !

The Koenigsegg CCR beats the Maclaren F1 without any problems

This is the worlds fastest, brutal car ever built!

    price: 4.5 million swedish KR = ($650000)

Thank you for that valuable contribution to this site.

I think that comparing a 10 year old car, with one that is brand new is a really clever thing to do.

I wasn't really shocked when you proved that the Maclaren is rubbish.
But then I knew that, because Maclaren make baby's push buggies.

The McLaren F1 on the other hand was designed to go fast, and it does that well.

It is still a struggle for most manufacturers to better it's performance.

Has anyone proved the CC/ CCR can actually go that fast?
I don't recall any high speed test runs at Nardo.
    Thanks for all the fish

I agree fully on these points....the McLaren is a (if not the) benchmark on super cars....its ability todo hat it does best is unparreled...and whilemany are nearly and in some cases just as good none have oficially betterd it all round and untill this happens it will remain in my eyes the benchmark....

A nice reminder that the US is not as obsessed with large engines as it once was and that many blindly believe is still the case.[/QUOTE]

Wait a minute... I am one who is just as *blindly* obsessed with large engines now as I was 20 years ago.

    440- magnum (4 and 3x2 bbl)
    426- Hemi
    383- magnum
    340- magnum (4 and 3x2 bbl)
    454 LS6 (450 horsepower)
    454 LS5 (390 horsepower)
    427- 4 and 3x2 bbl (Chevy)
    396- 4 bbl (375, 360 and 350 hp. preferred)
    429- Cobra Jet
    428- Cobra Jet
    427- 4 and 2x4 bbl (Ford)
    390- 4 bbl
    500- 4 bbl (Cadillac)
    472- 4 bbl (Cadillac)

An advantage with these engines is that many of them were (are) very reliable, especially the Cadillac 472/500.
