    Ever played at highbury?!

Yesterday when my sister cam home from uni, she said a friend asked her to "play at highbury" Being as we are both Gooners, it seemed to hard to be true. So today I went along with my sister, I went into the marble halls and was given a "spectators" wrist band while my sister smiled with glee as she walked off down the hallway into the dressing rooms.

10 minutes past and I was watching her run around from the East Stand. Then all of a sudden "WE NEED MORE PLAYERS" i heard that and belted it down the stairs....and hey presto I WAS PLAYING ON THE PITCH ASWELL

Still cant believe it! I played 4 small - half pitch matches for the "North Bank" Team. There were 10 teams...4 Veteran teams (North Bank, West Bank, East Bank & South Bank), 4 Young teams (18-28, North Bank, South Bank, West Bank, East Bank) and then 2 ladies teams which were East and North Banks. Then I played a 15 minute game on the full pitch. As we all wanted to score we chose a rolling attack as our tactic. Once we shot we would head to defend and let others attack. Didnt really work out tat way though...it was more of a 8-1-1 formation As a result we did lose....and unfortunatly I didnt score BUT...as I was finishing I ran over towards the North Stand goal and walloped the ball in! That was my goal at highbury!

After I was given a medal to say I had played there, some other goodies, photos, a flag thingy and met Mr Charlie George...Arsenal Legend! He presented the trophies and stuff.

Just thought I would share it...pretty awesome experience!

Not very nice photos of me below...the T-shirt I was given was hmmm somewhat petite! In the first picture...my sister is 2nd from left

It was a ballot! Anyone who renewed their season ticket with arsenal for the new stadium was entered. 50 people were chosen. But only 3/4 accepted so there were spaces...hence why my sisters m8 (who renewed her season ticket) was asked if she had n e friends who wanted to play. So I went a long to be the photographer and take some pics but they still didnt have enough players.

What is actually gonna happen to Highbury now that they've got the Emirates Stadium opening in a couple of months? Is it gonna be demolished for housing and stuff?
