    It was a good day.

Today started sucky. Today ended awesome. Here is today in a nutshell.

    527am: Wake up.
    528am: Put in contacts.
    529am: Find clothes for work.
532am: Get in car, drive toward work. Stop on the way and get liter of Mt Dew and a bagel melt sandwich.
    602am: Punch in to work.

That was the part that sucked. Now it gets better.

850am: Find out we have 42 of a very specific gaming console in stock.
902am: Call mother and request her presence at a certain store at the time of their opening. Negotiate terms of her doing me a huge favor. Need to find out what time store opens.
907am: Call her back and tell her it opens at 1000, not 1030.
947am: Hand mother ticket #11 of 42 for very specific gaming console.
    1002am: Store opens, wait patiently.

I'm skipping the boring part of me still being stuck at work and I'm skipping to the end. I came home today with all this stuff.

I punch out and do some shopping. I needed a couple of HDMI cables, a HDMI switcher box, and some "test media" for the very specific console that was in stock. I ended up with the following:

    PlayStation 3 60Gb console
    4' Monster M-Line HDMI cable
    8' Monster M-Line HDMI cable
    Dynex HDMI switcher
Call of Duty 3 for PlaySation 3
    Terminator: Judgement Day BlueRay disk
    X-Men 3 BlueRay disk

The retail on everything excluding the PS3 was $678. With my employee discount it was $303. Monster cables are incredibly marked up. I mean, I knew it was a stupid amount but really, it's just insane. I haven't even hooked any of it up yet, since after work I went to my dad's and we went out for lunch. But now I'm going to go hook it all up. I'll report my findings back later.

    My day > your day.

I opened the box and took the console out. It's wrapped in that styrofoam-like paper that most electronics come in. I opened that, and said "holy shit..." I could see the reflection of the ceiling fan in it. It's so shiny. I don't even want to play it, I just want to sit here and look at it all day.

I cleaned up the wiring on my home theater a little, since there were a lot of excess wires just chilling out back there. So it took a while to actually get it hooked up. And now it's updating. Sigh. I want to watch Terminator.

I guess it's a fingerprint magnet. Don't you dare touching it without gloves!

I have to update the console before I can really do anything. I don't think our network likes the PS3; it's downloading very slowly. So I'm downloading it on my computer directly from the PSUSA site, and I can load it on via USB/CF card. Even that says it's going to take 2 hours to download...

Holy sheeeet.... (shakes head in disbelief) You are one lucky bastard. Because of this, I'm thinking about a job at Best Buy instead of a Toyota salesman as a job I'll have during college.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Good luck with it, it's a great system.

Great choice on the game too, you'll love the way you plant a bomb in that game that you can't stop reloading that map just to do it again. Lol. And since you have CoD3, don't bother getting Resistance, it's not as good as CoD3.

Thanks to my dog wagging his tail around in my bro's room it knocked down our PS3 which ended up hitting the edge of the subwoofer than bounced back onto the ground and it couldn't work anymore so we returned that poor guy, and just a few days ago my bro got a 8800GTS and I got a 8800GTX to compensate the loss.

That's kinda funny that you say that, cause 3 guys I work with were all trying to get me to buy Resistance instead of COD. I know I'll like the style of COD since it's kind of close to the Rainbow Six style; definitely more so than RFOM would have been.

    Unfortunate you don't have a PS3 anymore.

And I think this puts an end to my computer building project. I probably won't even want a new one anyway. But I owe my mom money, I want to pay off the car, and this summer I want to get a 40" Sony XBR2 and a new home theater. So a computer is on the back burner for now...

Well I did become a bit of a CoD fanboy since the second one.......

But I didn't like the Resistance plot as much because of the awkward mix between old WWII style and futuristic enemies and weapons.

I probably won't buy another console, I found that I couldn't enjoy any consoles as much as I do with my PC and the PS3 had been rarely used since before we returned it anyway.

Oh don't worry about that part, this just means you'll have a more powerful PC with the same money when you finally do get one.

That's what I figured; either that or I could build a really nice budget system with similar specs to what I was going to.
