I wonder, should some one tell Polestar that the Volvo S60 just got a facelift

    Yes - they built it.

Luckily, 'crazy' concepts like this can still evolve into production form.

Sick car. Not a fan of the basic styling but the enhancements are A-1, I love a rather sleepy looking bruiser.
An it harm none, do as ye will

Approximately 79% of statistics are made up.

Actually it is little more than a standard S60 T6 with a bodykit, some blue paint and a reflashed ECU...

I wanted to prove you wrong, but I can't.
    Just looked up some stats.

    Standard S60 T6 AWD

    440NM at 2100rpm
    Top speed : 250 km/h
    0-100 : 6.1sec

    S60 T6 AWD Polestar
    Max Output : 344bhp at 5700rpm
    500NM at 2800rpm
    Top speed : 250 km/h
    0-100 : 4.9sec

I would still dig it for +40 bhp and the flashy blue paint, but indeed I am now aware it is not as special as I thought it was be. Reason for this is that I am totally blindsided on Volvo's current model range. Definitely no outrageous concept evolved into production then - bummer.

It still even has the automatic gearbox from the standard S60 T6.

Maybe they are testing the waters to see if they can get away with it?

Yeah, probably something that ruined the ride.

Even in the mid-90s when they were still using a 4-speed auto, more 850Rs were sold here with the auto than the manual. The manual had more power, more torque (on overboost) more gears and an LSD.. and it was probably cheaper. So.. not surprised this'uns an auto too. Seems like it's basically what the R version should be, really. Still.. if it works and is successful, maybe it'll pave the way for a more nutter version. Polestar R.

You see, much like 190E 2.6s (amongst many other cars), no one bought autos back then here.

But well, I guess this is progress.

Polestar is such a silly name though...

I imagine it's supposed to evoke thoughts of pole position, but.. yes. Sounds like a new reality TV show..
