I haven't been in an S500, but I have been in my dad's newly acquired S350L - and it is an awesomely luxurious car. The amount of passenger-pampering gimmicky-but-cool stuff in there is incredible. The seats are really nice and even the back seats are reclinable and have heaps of leg-room. On top of that, it's full of other gadgetry and is by far the smoothest car I've ever been in. So based on that I very much doubt the S500 is "shitty".

Mind you, I'm definitely not a Merc-biased man owning an IS250 myself. I'd love to have either an LS600hL or an S500.
