[POLL] So there's a new world order...

...hypothetically speaking, and only ONE country is henceforth allowed to be the sole car producer for the rest of the world.

So, in your opinion, which country should be the sole road vehicle manufacturer?

NOTE: let's do this by country of origin, not by ownership (i.e. if you like range rover, vote for the UK not India etc.)

I have to say Germany. Germany has gotten the right idea, very meticulous engineering processes, and the end product is hugely uniform and more often than not, to a very high quality.

Great cars, but nothing cheap comes from the Germans... what will the lower-classes drive?

I'd say American / Japanese. They both have a wide variety of cars, ranging from cheap econoboxes to exotics.

Italy, for the exact opposite reasons.

It goes against my religion, but I voted Japan because I just had a feeling thats what might be best for the planet lol. They do have a lot of great cars that I could live with for the rest of my life if I had to.

If we're going solely style/soul and all those other wonderful and unreasonable traits then I'd probably have said Italy.

I voted for Germany. I find they can offer every category of car and be 99% accurate in what they offer.
For example;
Small car - VW Polo, Golf, Mini, 1 Series
SUV - X5, ML, GL, Toureg, Cayenne
Real SUV - G Class
Luxury - A8, 7 Series, S Class
Performance - Porsche, AMG, M Division, RS models from audi.
Everyday - 3 Series, C Class, A4

i went with Italy to, i almost went for Japan, but i them remebered that the boring stuff that comes out of there easly outweights the cool passionate stuff.

So Italy it is, and probably for the good, maybe then people would start looking after their cars.

Vogue man covered waht I see as the issue in his post....

Most folks outside of Europe aren't aware of the wide range of cars ( esp small cheap ) equally outside of Japan we don't see a lot of their "oddities" addressing their unique markets.

Takes research to get the bigger picture.

BUT that looks at it as "cars" ... IF there were ever to be a one-company/country builder then it will be created for financial reasons and you end up at China

Matra this is Ultimatecarpage, not UltimateIwanttomakethemostmoneyoutofmyinvestmentpa ge.

If Italy doesn't win I can't see much future for this forum...

All Roads Lead to China

.....has to be China as all marques will eventually be made there due to far lower costs of production.

France, so that they can go back to produce at least some of their traditional extravaganza without being accused by the so called journalists of deviating from the ordinary, which is what the majority of car owners is interested in anyway.

Ferrer, it's far from what anyone woudl WANT ... BUT all I was pointing out is that IF there were to be one country then it WILL be China as none of the others have the GDP, size or market growth to get anywhere near them.

If it was only down to who designed the sexiest cars it would be Italy.
But then 90% of the worls cars would be in the workshop
