It's particularly weird seeing the R8 LMS performing so well after just a week ago they were performing pretty averagely in the GT3 races.
I don't think these cars are "stock" and strictly following the GT3 rules, still it's quite remarkable for a relatively new car to outperform, by now, the all-conquering 997 GT3.

Surprising indeed by they still have 19 hours to go, so we'll see. The Ford GT also seemed to be pretty fast, but after some time it hasn't really gained back much of the time lost by the spin (It's now 10th). Also interesting was the 3 litre V8 Vantage to take advantage of the regulations.

It looks like it'll be a two horse race between the 911s and R8s.

The GT3 cars are performance balanced, so the results in those races do not really reflect the capabilities of the cars. I think these VLN regulations are a little more lenient. The R8 LMS is a very fast car when unrestricted.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.
