82 applications have been filed in total for Le Mans, which is rather surprising.
The lack of preselections taking up entries probably helped boost the interest a bit.

I know no manufacturer teams in LMS is a bit of a loss, but now it's all privateers, and all of them have a chance at victory.
It's just what LMS needed; a whole bunch of cars fighting for victory.

Well, it's Aston Martin via Prodrive, so I'd call it a pseudo-factory effort (yes, I know Prodrive owns a stake in Aston)

Prodrive does not own a stake in Aston Martin.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

this is the correct version, which of course can be easily (but not legally) simplified to what Z-F thought...

Villeneuve and Zonta out at Peugeot replaced by Montagny and David Brabham. It's great to see an active Formula 1 driver do Le Mans. It's equally good to see Brabs in a top runner at Le Mans again.

Villeneuve was too slow, not sure why Zonta is gone though - is he old?
