ASTON MARTIN V8 Vantage (1977 - 1989)
Description & History: Considered by most automotive critics as Great Britain's first supercar, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage was introduced to the large public in 1977. Its incredible power came from a 5.3L V8 engine delivering 394 hp and reaching the 0-60 mph line in 5.3 seconds. Not to be confused with the high-performance versions of the later-developed Virage series, the V8 Vantage model featured a closed roof (core-like) & grille and a new spoiler. Several updates were brought to this model throughout the years, with the most important being the introduction of a new V8 unit (shared with the Zagato GT model) delivering 430 hp and reaching a top speed of 186 mph (1986 to 1989, version 580X V8 Vantage).
