the BMW 130i is one of the most selfish cars ever built.

no concern for the passengers (they basically don't fit)

no concern for passers-by (MY EYES!!!!! ze goggles, zhey do nozhing!)

and no concern for the GFC (you want HOW MUCH?!)

However, the driver remains a very happy person

question; in what can i find the V6 nowadays though? the R36 still?
TT, Passat, Superb are some of the ones I can think of. And yes this will be a better car, but the six had such a soundtrack.

A petrol powered, four wheel drive, 270bhp Golf? Its value will fall like a rock off a big cliff...

Golfs are big sellers here, and they hold their value quite well....

They do here as well. But when they are diesels, not ultra hot hatches.

This will probably hold it's value better than the Seat, but still won't have rock solid residuals like other Golfs do, because the market for top of the range hot hatches isn't that big.

I like the fact that it's available in 5 door guise though. It adds practicality to the mix.

Wasn't the R32 also available in 5 door?

I agree it's not going to be stellar but certainly better than a subbrand of VW.

Yep you are right. I personally think that hot hatches make much more sense when the are practical.

Otherwise why wouldn't you just get a hot coupe?

    Exactly. Or a proper sportscar.

Uh oh, I'm surprised Ferrer didn't have a field day with this one. He loves his 130is.

Personally, it's a cool little car, but like IB4R said, it's only nice if you have 2 passengers.

Well it's the best driving C-segment hatch bar none. It's also got an excellent fuel consumption/performance ratio. And it's a quality product.

It is expensive but well worth it in my opinion. Look elsewhere if you want practicality though.

Cool. I'll take one in flat-black, slammed over gold BBS split rims.

Had a feeling you'd come to defend it.

I understand what you say, but I'd still rather get a 3 coupe than a 1 coupe.

Cause then you can't fit the V6 in the back seat as easily.

I do like them, but I still wish there was a bigger weight difference between the 1 series and 3 series.

I'm not interested in the Coupe (well maybe the 135i). I was thinking of the hatchback. The 3er Coupe is a much bigger and more expensive vehicle.
