    1988 Ford F-250

Well, my life has changed pretty significantly in the last two years. Since Dec, 2013, I moved to a different part of the state (Durango, CO, yes the same with the orange colored river), purchased a new house, got a new job (still a cop), and got married. Where I live now gets massive amounts of snow as I live above 8,000 ft in the mountains. The house my wife and I bought was build in the 70's and hasn't been updated since. The entire house needs to be gutted and remodeled and that means lots of trips to the hardware store, and the dump with large amounts of items, which in turn means the necessity of owning a truck.

After much searching at new and semi-old models, they all seemed to be absolutely boring, and expensive. A bad combinations. After learning all I can about this foreign breed of automobile, nothing appealed. That is until I started looking older, much older. My requirements were only a manual/standard transmission, and enough power to pull a small trailer, and the search began. A few weeks ago, I found what I was looking for. A genuine beater. The windows didnt work, the wipers didnt work, the headlights didnt work etc... But it had it where it counts. 1988 Ford F-250 with extended cab, extended bed, tow package, plow, 4wd, topper, and a 7.5L big block v8 to boot. All with only 148k miles!

During the test drive, something about it grabbed me. OK it wasnt going to be winning any beauty contests with its large dents, numerous rust spots, amateur camo painted hood, and the list goes on. BUT it grabbed me. The seller was asking $2,900, I offered half $1,500 and he agreed. So now I am the happy owner of a truck.

Dont worry, I still got the speed 6 Also, had to put on a mullet for the picture, same with the dog, seemed obligatory.

I thought you had moved to Australia, judging by the first picture.

Anyways, congratulations on the purchase. If it's useful it's good!

    Nope the upside down orientation.

If it was for the mullets you could've gone to Germany and I don't think the F-250 is too good at handling the autobahn.
