One of the more unusual cars in action during the 76th Goodwood Members' Meeting was the unique Hagemann-Sutton Special. Wheeled out for the firs time by its German owner on this side of the Atlantic, the car had originally been commissioned from Jack Hagemann in 1959 as a sports racer to rival the better known Scarabs. Sadly, before it was completed the funds had dried up and it would take until 2005 for it to be finished. As can be seen in our 39-shot gallery, the fascinating machine has regularly been raced in California before crossing the Atlantic.
Having withdrawn from WRC, Volkswagen have now set their sights on the legendary Pikes Peak hill-climb with an all-electric racer fittingly dubbed the I.D. R Pikes Peak. For now there are only two renderings available of the car that looks set to challenge the electric record this Summer. Another new electric racer to break cover is the DS E-TENSE FE 19. This is the DS team's version of the new-for-2019 Formula E car. Compared to its predecessor, the second generation car boasts more power and a completely new bodykit that includes the HALO head protection devise also introduced in Formula 1 this year.
Over the last few weeks the recently revived Brabham Automotive have revealed snippets of their all new car due to be named the BT62. It is set to break cover on May 1st and for now, all we can show is a brief video of the car thundering past. We will definitely keep you posted on this exciting new project.
