BTW - they should have given it the XR badge, methinks.
I am a New Zealander, and I hate Greg Murphy. Yes, we exist.

Turbo diesel required more work, and Ford doesnt agree that its economically better than the petrol engine in the short term. Turbo model gives the range a hero model, and yes it helps take sales away from higher priced Euro models.

It was economically friendly to do the turbo six because they already had the technology in the sedan..all they had to do was make it work in a different car/ engine bay....

Ford dont currently have a diesel so adapting one from the americans would be more expensive...

And yeah the XR sig would have been good...but it would have conflicted with the actual XR6...

Problem also with badging it XR would be it'd conflict with the car's image. Its designed more for luxury sport than outright sport, much like the LX8 Adventra was.

An XR version is still possible as the T T doesnt have stiffer suspension over the NA model, just bigger wheels and a revised ESP calibration.

When it left it was fine, But when it was sitting there and i was next to it for 4 min while it was at idle it was making a sound you wouldn't expected to here from such a expensive SUV. Made more noise then my old Gemini when it blew a valve serious. What was even more surprising was the noise it made when it went into gear, Just like my diff does because it's got to much play in it.
