    Renaming Pictures

I am wondering why if you upload a picture with a space in the name, ucp automatically inserts a "%20" in the gap. It is frustrating to go through and rename every picture as you save it to your computer. What is the reason behind the %20? Is their a way to remove it? Is this only happening to me? Is this due to using a certain web-browser?

I think that's the interwebz way of inserting spaces.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

It's because technically there's no such thing as punctuation in filenames, so they break things. %20 means space, I think a comma is %22 or %23... I can't remember. Essentially, they're there because they have to be.

Meaning that any picture with spaces needs to have %20 or it will crash or something? Why dont they update that sort of thing?

Because you can't have a space at all. HTML doesn't allow it.

Just swap the space for an underscore.

Or use a tool like Fast Stone Image viewer to rename them all. That's what i do.

    Faststone is freeware\shareware
FastStone Image Viewer, Screen Capture, Photo Resizer ...

    It's great. Mass rename. perfect.

On a side note, how many pictures do people have on there PC's ? I've around 43,000 in about 2500 directories.

No idea . . but over 50 Gig of just car images sorted all by year-make_##.jpg in a directory of either Production or Concept within the manufacturer - which are grouped with their associated partners such as Ford group or VW Group etc . . .

And I don't think I could touch the amount of images UPC has in the hideout alone.

I checked just because your are asking: 153 GB, over 65000 in 7400 directories, and, most importantly, all taken by me.....(and I can mention at least one person who will top these figures easily....)

Dang, I only have 6.13 GB, and that's both photos I've taken and collected. In my defense though, that's all since August. My hard drive got corrupted (Windows ) and I lost hundreds of gigs of photos, music, and movies.
i was waiting on a moment, but the moment never came. all the billion other moments, were just slipping all away. i must have been tripping, we're just slipping all away. just ego tripping.
