Right you are. Though it is somewhat groundbreaking for Cadillac as they haven't built a car with a V-12 for a long time.

IMO they probably shouldve gone for a low pressure turbo V8. An LS2 with 2 turbo's on some measly psi would have some monster low down torque.

And then I'd like to see it at the first speed bump it came to

i'd pay to have a regiment of bulldozers flatten and smoothen the road 24 hours ahead of me, including pedestrians.

That'd just basically be the engine the Sixteen had to begin with. It'd be way too long and compromise the styling and packaging of the car.

But the V12 will give more refinement and image, crucial at that price point.

1 and a half.. V12 9 litre... Since the VE the LS2 to me sounds more like a chopper one past me going real hard, Then i thought about the sound and it reminded me on a less a scale of course, To the sound the McLaren super car makes when going hard that chopper sound, I think it wouldn't sound bad as a super cars motor mid mounted but.

    According to http://www.autoblog.com- C/O Just-Auto:

"Bob Lutz recently confirmed that Cadillac is developing a top-of-the-line model powered by a V12 to take on the Mercedes S-class and BMW 7 series. Unlike other recent rear-wheel-drive models like the Pontiac G8 and Chevrolet Camaro, the new model will not be developed by the Holden team in Australia. Holden engineering director Tony Hyde said his engineers are not involved in any way in the V12 development. An Australian report had claimed that the new car would be based on the new Zeta platform that underpins the other new RWD GM cars with the V-12 being based on a pair of 3.6L V-6s joined together."

So that stupid idea has luckilly been crushed.

I think the engine. Technically the STS already competes with the S-class.

As in the engine. Gluing two engines together never sounded like a proper idea!
